Planned equipment safety
The Newmarket studio is not open. Its address, opening timeline, hours, final device models, settings, and operating protocols are not confirmed. This page provides general information for the planned modalities, not medical advice or final device-specific instructions. If you are pregnant, heat-sensitive, have a medical condition, take relevant medication, or use an implanted electronic device, consult a qualified healthcare professional before using the planned equipment.
Traditional dry sauna
Heat exposure can place acute load on cardiovascular and thermoregulatory systems. Seek professional medical advice before sauna use if you:
- are pregnant or may be pregnant;
- have uncontrolled high or low blood pressure;
- have any form of heart disease, arrhythmia, unstable angina, or a history of stroke;
- have been advised against vigorous exercise by a physician;
- are taking beta-blockers, diuretics, or other medications that affect thermoregulation;
- have epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, or another condition that impairs heat tolerance;
- have open wounds, active skin infection, or severe sunburn;
- have recently consumed alcohol or recreational drugs; or
- feel unwell, feverish, or dehydrated.
Red and near-infrared light
Seek device-specific medical guidance before use if you:
- have a history of photosensitive skin disorders (e.g. lupus, porphyria);
- are taking photosensitizing medication (tetracyclines, retinoids, St John's wort, and others);
- have active skin cancer or undiagnosed skin lesions in the treatment area;
- have had recent cosmetic procedures (laser, peels, injectables) within the past 2 weeks; or
- have had recent eye surgery or have a retinal or other eye condition.
PEMF-integrated loungers
PEMF may be inappropriate for people who:
- have a pacemaker, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, cochlear implant, insulin pump, or any other implanted electronic medical device;
- are pregnant;
- have an active tumour or history of recent cancer treatment;
- have a metal implant or pin in the area being treated (some are safe, some are not — ask your surgeon);
- are experiencing active bleeding or have a bleeding disorder; or
- have epilepsy.
Adjustable pneumatic compression boots
Seek medical advice before pneumatic compression use if you:
- have, or are at risk of, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism;
- have active cellulitis, infection, or open wounds on the legs;
- have peripheral arterial disease or severe peripheral neuropathy;
- have severe heart failure, pulmonary edema, or recent lower-limb surgery; or
- are pregnant.
General safety rules
- Follow the final device instructions. Models, settings, session guidance, eye protection, and operating rules will be published before opening.
- Hydrate before and after heat exposure unless a healthcare professional has instructed otherwise.
- Listen to your body. If you feel dizzy, nauseated, or unwell, stop the equipment and seek help.
- If you have any doubt about whether a modality is appropriate, ask a qualified healthcare professional first.
Emergency
Call 911 for a medical emergency. The proposed studio address and final on-site emergency procedures are not confirmed.
